'What is the "Super ID System"?
The 'Super ID System' is a new system for detecting the position
of objects. One or more moving transmitters are recognised and monitored.
The exact position of both people and objects can be determined
by three coordinates (x,y,z), whether they are moving or standing
still, with no need for actual physical contact.
The system locates and identifies objects through a combined infrared/ultrasound
system. The receivers are installed in a high place (usually the
ceiling), and the transmitters move underneath them.
Why use the Super ID System?
It
can often be extremely useful to have on-line information about
the location of certain elements.
In
the warehouse: the system can tell you exactly WHAT there is in
the warehouse, WHERE each element is and WHEN it has been stored,
by means of a transmitter placed in each truck.
For
automatic systems, activation and deactivation of electric components
can be controlled in accordance with the transmitter movements.
Different types of studies can also be carried out by analysing
transmitter movement (trucks, people, objects).
These is used for:
1. Optimising travel (minimising movements).
2. Redesigning and improving the efficiency of the work area layout.
3. Eliminating superfluous movements of people.
4. Studying the movement of goods in distribution centres.
5. Studying warehouses. Product location. Movement of different
product types (A, B, C).
What are the features of the Super ID System?
It is an economical system.
Example: each pallet in a warehouse does not have to be ID-tagged.
Zero position errors. The position of the transmitter (truck and
pallet) can be accurately calculated using the x-y-z coordinates.
The system can calculate the position and movement of more than
one transmitter at the same time.
As it works by ultrasound it does not interfere with other applications,
it is not harmful to health and it causes no damage to products.
