TW Weight Checker
weight control system in picking operations.

Description

A weighbridge comprised of various sensors installed in the rollers of a conveyor belt and connected by just two cables to the PTL Systems - Reduced Wiring Network - pick-to-light system. The system provides real-time weight measurements, thereby enabling the control PC to verify and monitor the precision of each picking operation both quickly and simply.

A different Weight Checker can be configured for each picking zone, thereby checking each and every one of the articles inserted in the box.
By carrying out localised checks during the preparation of orders, you can correct any mistakes immediately and avoid long quality control queues at the end of the process.

The Weight Checker system can weigh up to 30 kg at a time, with an accuracy of +/- 10 grams. It is also extremely flexible and can be installed over any roller belt and in any position.

Furthermore, a single roller with sensors enables you to carry out a real-time presence check on any box located at this point.

Process

The operator forwards the container to the weight check area and scans the container ID barcode.
The empty container is weighed for '0'-adjustment and the light module for the picking item/s is illuminated.
The operator picks the item/s up and puts it/them in the container. Then he presses the weight check switch to start the process (unit weight x Q = total weight).
If the weight is OK, the light module is switched off and the next operation is shown.
If the weight is not OK, the system warns the operator that either the weight or picking item/s are wrong. Once the operator has successfully corrected the quantity or item, the warning signal switches off.
